As part of the 2023 American Advertising Federation (AAF) Pitch Competition, I led Team Brunner in developing a comprehensive campaign for the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to serving Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ+ community and advancing awareness around HIV prevention and wellness.

This fast-paced, high-stakes competition challenged local creative teams to conceptualize and present a strategic, impactful campaign under tight deadlines. As team leader and lead graphic/web designer, I oversaw the campaign's creative direction, ensuring that our visual identity, messaging, and deliverables aligned with the foundation's mission and values.
Role & Responsibilities:
Creative Direction & Leadership:
Led a multidisciplinary team through concept development, creative execution, and final pitch presentation. Oversaw timelines, team roles, and quality control while maintaining a collaborative, inclusive creative environment.

Visual & Web Design Execution:
Created a cohesive visual identity for the campaign, spanning across poster designs, brochures, social media graphics, and a proposed website redesign. Each piece was designed with accessibility, inclusivity, and emotional resonance in mind.

Audience-Focused Storytelling:
Grounded all design and messaging decisions in a deep understanding of Hugh Lane’s target demographic, prioritizing clarity, empathy, and empowerment throughout the campaign’s voice and visuals.

Impact:
The final campaign was praised for its thoughtful visual language, strategic communication, and sensitivity to the lived experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. Team Brunner’s presentation stood out among the competition as a compelling example of how design and storytelling can drive social impact.

This project not only showcased my ability to guide a creative team from ideation to execution, but also highlighted my passion for purpose-driven design and community-centered work.
