Deanna Gray is an award-winning graphic designer, marketing strategist, and educator with over seven years of experience across the creative, education, and nonprofit sectors. She currently serves as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Whitehall Public Library, where she leads brand development, digital outreach, and community engagement initiatives across print and digital platforms.
In addition to her role at Whitehall, Deanna is an Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design at the Community College of Allegheny County. Since 2025, she has taught courses in UX/UI and Interactive Design, emphasizing human-centered design principles and helping students apply creative thinking to real-world challenges.
Deanna is also an active freelance designer, collaborating with institutions and organizations on branding, print, and digital design projects. Her recent freelance partnerships include creative work with Point Park University and the Community College of Allegheny County, where she contributes to visual marketing materials, educational publications, and student-focused design initiatives.
A committed advocate for the local design community, Deanna serves as a board member of AIGA Pittsburgh, where she supports programming and mentorship opportunities for emerging designers. Through this role, she helps foster an inclusive and thriving creative environment in the region.
Previously, she worked as a Graphic Illustrator for Spark Creative Play, creating vibrant visuals and user interface elements for educational iOS games. Earlier in her career, she held roles in quality assurance, digital production, and technical support, contributing to her well-rounded understanding of both design execution and communication systems.
Through her personal studio, Grayariart, Deanna merges her love for illustration and storytelling by creating comics, zines, and original merchandise. Her work and creative voice have been featured in interviews and podcasts focused on design, mental health, and community impact.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Information Sciences from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Communications from the Community College of Allegheny County. Her accolades include recognition from AIGA 365, the AdFlux Intercollegiate Advertising and Design Competition, and multiple industry certifications in UI/UX, HTML, and digital marketing.
Outside of design and teaching, Deanna mentors young artists, advocates for pigeon rescue and care, and actively contributes to Pittsburgh’s creative scene. She brings a unique blend of empathy, storytelling, and design strategy to every project she touches.
